El presente documento de investigación, analiza la sincronización de ciclos económicos en Bolivia y que las mismas están caracterizados por una relación significativa entre el PIB en términos reales y las exportaciones, formación bruta de capital fijo y términos de intercambio para el periodo 1990-2020. Esta afirmación corrobora la hipótesis de que variables relacionadas a los cambios en el contexto internacional explican los ciclos económicos en Bolivia. La herramienta fundamental para este análisis ha sido la aplicación del Modelo de Markov-Switching Estructural con dos estados. De este análisis se desprende que la variable exportación guarda una correlación muy fuerte con el PIB. Pero además también se ha encontrado que los términos de intercambio, es no significativa en un régimen de crecimiento bajo de todas las variables examinadas. Finalmente, también se encontró que la duración y/o permanecía en el régimen de crecimiento alto es mayor a la duración de crecimiento bajo. La principal conclusión que se ha encontrado es que, para fines de predicción, los shocks de oferta y demanda son los más sobresalientes, donde las variables exportación, la formación bruta de capital fijo son significativos y positivos, los cuales pueden tomarse como indicadores del ciclo económico del PIB en Bolivia.
